Welcome to Man Alive

Man Alive is New Zealand's biggest and most comprehensive men's centre dedicated, since 1996, to working with men and boys on issues that affect their lives.

We are a secular, non-political organisation offering a broad range of counselling services and programmes. Our goal is to support men and boys of all ages to gain understanding and strength in their relationships with partners, children, family and friends.

Run by men for men, Man Alive's team is dedicated to working with men in straightforward and practical ways. We believe that men are strengthened when they stand in a healthy community of men who support them as they face transitions in their lives.

The Man Alive Men's Centre is based in Henderson in West Auckland. We are a non-profit organisation with visions of expanding our services to men and boys on our tranquil 0.3-hectare property.

Living Without Violence - Te Ara Taumata Ora

Living Without Violence - brochure

Man Alive's point of difference from other non-violence programmes is that they are run by men, for men.

Our Maori programme, Te Ara Taumata Ora, uses the same themes as Living Without Violence but they are delivered in culturally appropriate ways.

Living Without Violence and Te Ara Taumata Ora programmes are run in accordance with the Domestic Violence Act and are approved by Probation Services.

Counselling for men by men - brochure

Counselling for men by men

The first thing your male counsellor will do is help you clearly identify the issues. Man Alive counsellors are trained and experienced in dealing with men's issues, so they'll understand yours.

Next, they'll help you develop a broader range of options to deal with the issues. As your choices increase, you'll feel better about yourself and your life. The challenge is for you to ask for support.
